Mercedes-Benz A-Class

Problem

The parking brake stopped working after replacing the brake pads due to a stretched main parking brake cable.

Work performed

Replacing the main parking brake cable required removing the fuel tank. Rust around the fuel pipe inlet and outlet connections complicated the task, but was successfully handled. Inside the cabin, the center console was disassembled to disconnect the cable from the handbrake lever.

Result

We replaced the handbrake cable with a new one and adjusted the tension. Everything was reassembled in reverse order, and while reinstalling the fuel tank, we cleaned and treated the rusted areas.
